SAVING EARTH PRINT MAGAZINE LAUNCHES IN SPRING 2020

Mar 6, 2020

West Kelowna, British Columbia – Saving Earth Magazine announces the launch of its inaugural print edition in May of 2020. This environmental magazine sets itself apart from other environmental news platforms by bringing together green businesses, nonprofits, and academics to open the conversation on how to implement positive strategies towards a post-carbon economy, a cleaner earth, and more.

The magazine, based in Canada, will direct approximately 50% of its content to Canadian topics with the remaining content coming from global partners in Australia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States of America. Saving Earth plans to distribute across Canada, and to the rest of the world through global partners, through global subscription, and in digital format online through ISSUU.com.

Each issue of Saving Earth contains thoughtful, concise, captivating journalism, paired with powerful imagery on the topics that matter most. The team strives to create and bring together ideas that have the power to transform the way humans interact with the planet – to devise, communicate, educate, and to share and help implement strategies and new technologies.

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Teena Clipston who took a hiatus from publishing after selling TheGreenGazette, an environmental newspaper based in BC´s Cariboo, returns to publishing following a stint in investigative journalism that led her to the jungles of Guatemala to protect local forestry rights in the Maya Biosphere Reserve.

“Our team of international contributors explore the issues most important to them and their respective regions,” says Clipston. “This is the first time a project like this has been done on this scale. Yes, there are other environmental magazines out there, but we take it a step further – we also look at climate science and real-word technology; we investigate practical thinking about what a post-carbon society would look like. We tackle human rights issues. We pull together environmental organizations and their projects, and bring a wealth of information and resources into one package.”

Clipston says that by sharing ideas globally we will help to heal struggling communities and to support those who are doing pioneering work in the ecological and environmental sciences.

“Everything I have done up until now, was leading me to this moment,” says Clipston. “Saving Earth is by far the most important project I have ever worked on; it resonates in my very soul as what my life’s work should be truly about.”

Two funding campaigns are currently underway to expedite the production of the inaugural edition. The first is a Kickstarter campaign organized by UK based bestselling author Angela Legh who is sponsoring the project. The second campaign seeks “green” advertising partners. The media kit is available here.

* Please note that magazine will be printed on recycled paper, hemp paper, or sugar paper.
